The Office of the Head of the   business Amanagement Department efficiently manages all aspects of the department's administration concerning faculty members, students, staff, and service workers. The Head of the Department plays a central role as a member of the College Council and key administrative committees, focusing on enhancing communication among the academic, administrative, service staff, students, and the college's senior administration, including the Dean and their academic and administrative assistants. Together with the Department Council and the Academic Committee, the Head oversees academic and research activities, as well as extracurricular student activities, and carefully monitors the department's financial and administrative matters.

The Head of the Department is responsible for administratively and academically overseeing exams, always striving to achieve the highest standards of quality and excellence in all administrative, academic, and service activities to improve community service and ensure effective productivity. Under the supervision of the Department Council, the Head formulates and implements the department's strategic and phased plans, tracking their progress meticulously and preparing necessary reports on their implementation and outcomes. They also work on developing the skills of academic and administrative staff throughout their service and on promoting learning, research, and extracurricular activities for students.

Biography of the Head of the Department

Asst. Dr. Zain Al-Abidin Jassim Mohammed Al-Salem graduated from the University of Basra, College of Administration and Economics, Department of Business Administration. He completed his Master's degree in Business Administration in 2000, University of Basra. His thesis was entitled "Organizational Culture and its Impact on Organizational Performance." He completed his PhD studies in 2005 at the University of Basra. The title of his PhD thesis was "Analysis of the Components of Knowledge Management and its Relationship to Creativity." He has been working as a lecturer at Shatt Al-Arab University in Basra since 2001. He started his position as Head of the Business Administration Department on 7/8/2024. He holds certificates of participation in modern teaching methods courses in Istanbul and Beirut, and he has many distinguished research activities.
